Transportation safety is a dynamic and ever-changing interplay between vehicle (e.g., type, condition, equipment, weight, loading), environment (e.g., organizational culture, road conditions, weather) and driver. Together, the CRSD and the School of Outdoor Recreation, Parks and Tourism at Lakehead University are training their drivers through the “safer-systems” approach. This initiative will help drivers to mitigate hazards and identify protective factors necessary for safer participant transportation.
