We're very excited that you'll be joining us and to make sure you’re ready for one of the biggest adventures of your life, we’ve compiled a list of important next steps that should help you prepare over the next few months. 8-12 Weeks before classes Start

  • Register for classes

4. Plan your finances

  • Understand your university costs
  • Learn about OSAP, scholarships & bursaries
  • Build a budget
 8 Weeks before classes start

 5. Take care of student business early

  • Check out our Orientation Events calendar and plan your Orientation experience!
  • Order your student card
  • Pay your tuition
  • Confirm your LUSU health & dental coverage
4-6 Weeks before classes start

6. Ease your transition

  • Arrange travel to campus
  • Connect with student services
  • Familiarize yourself with libraries and services
  • Prepare for academic success
  • Learn about the Academic Support Zone
Make the most of your first 6 weeks
 7. Attend Orientation
  • Learn about your new community
  • Participate in fun activities
  • Meet new people and make new friends
  • Get comfortable with university life

8. Join the Lakehead Community

  • Check out student clubs & associations
  • Join a Campus Recreation sports team
  • Cheer on your Thunderwolves

9. Start off strong

  • Attend academic skills workshops
  • Set up your Google calendar
  • Read course outlines in detail
  • Introduce yourself to your classmates
