This serves as notice that a motion to approve the creation of a Teaching Support Award and its associated policy will be brought forward to the November 4, 2019 Senate meeting.

Alumni Association Board of Directors Recommendation

MOVED that Dr. Michel Beaulieu be appointed to the Senate Honorary Degrees Committee as the Alumni Association Board of Directors member with the term commencing immediately to June 30, 2020.

Adjunct Professor Recommendations

7.1

Faculty of Health and Behavioural Sciences (Dr. Michel Bédard)

MOVED that Dr. Alexandra Drawson be appointed as an External Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology for the term commencing July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2023.

7.2

Faculty of Science and Environmental Studies (Dr. Todd Randall)

MOVED that the following adjunct professor recommendations be approved:

• Dr. Hui Qun Deng, be appointed as an External Adjunct Professor in the Department of Computer Science for the term commencing May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2023.
• Dr. David Savage, be appointed as an External Adjunct Professor in the Department of Computer Science for the term commencing May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2023.

Adjunct Professor Renewals

• Dr. Ismel Gonzalez’s appointment as an External Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Education was renewed effective July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2023.
• Dr. Len Hunt’s appointment as an External Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Natural Resources Management was renewed effective July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2023.
• Dr. Martin Katzman’s appointment as an External Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology was renewed effective July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2023.
• Dr. Randall Kolka’s appointment as an External Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Natural Resources Management was renewed effective July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2023.
• Dr. Christopher Mushquash’s appointment as an Internal Adjunct Professor in the Department of Health Sciences was renewed effective July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2023.
• Dr. Edouard St. Pierre’s appointment as an External Adjunct Professor in the Department of Psychology was renewed effective July1, 2019 to June 30, 2023.
• Dr. Chunabao (Charles) Xu’s appointment as an External Adjunct Professor in the Faculty of Natural Resources Management was renewed effective July 1, 2019 to June 30, 2023.

Late Additions to the List of Graduands (Ms. Andrea Tarsitano)

The Senate’s “Enabling Motion Graduands on Record” empowers the Dean of the Faculty and Registrar to approve late additions to the graduands’ list who had not appeared on the convocation list.  No motion is necessary. 

9.3

Election Updates

Faculty Senator on the Provost and Vice President, Academic Search Committee Election

Nominations were accepted from August 22 to August 28, 2019. Four eligible nominations were submitted. The election was conducted from September 5 to September 9, 2019.

• Dr. Peter Hollings was elected as the faculty Senator on the Provost and Vice President, Academic Search Committee.

Faculty Senator on the Joint Senate Committee for NOSM

Nominations were accepted from August 26 to September 1, 2019. One eligible nominations was submitted. 

• Dr. Paolo Sanzo was acclaimed as the faculty Senator on the Joint Senate Committee for NOSM for the term commencing immediately to June 30, 2020.
