Getting Ready for Lakehead
Lakehead University is no ordinary place. Find your program and check your admission requirements
With 7 Faculty and more than 65 programs, Lakehead University offers an exceptional opportunity to pursue your academic goals. Explore our programs on our website. Once you’ve selected a program, confirm you have the necessary grades and prerequisites. If you are an Ontario high school student, refer to our quick reference chart or all interested students may visit lakeheadu.ca/admissions to check for your individual program requirements. Be sure you have completed or plan to successfully complete the required admission requirements.
Apply Online
If you are applying to an undergraduate program, you can submit your application through the Ontario University Application Centre (OUAC). IMPORTANT: You will need your Ontario Education Number (OEN) to apply. The OEN is a 9-digit, unique identification number assigned to elementary and high school students across the province. You can find your OEN on your report card. Your high school guidance counsellor will also have it on record.
Receive an acknowledgement email and access your myInfo Account
Once you apply, you will receive an important email from Enrolment Services - Undergraduate Admissions with information about setting up your myInfo Account, which is your exclusive portal for all important information and communications from Lakehead during the admissions process.
Continue to review the status of your application

Apply for scholarships and bursaries
Lakehead University offers over $11 million in scholarships, bursaries & awards. Our database, myAwards, allows you to determine the scholarships, bursaries and awards you are eligible for as a Lakehead University undergraduate student. You can complete your profile and start applying beginning August 15th. Please continue to check for updates on criteria and important application due dates.
Apply for residence
Admission to Residence is guaranteed to all high school students provided they are admitted to Lakehead University by June 3, 2024. Residence is an amazing life experience where you will enjoy convenience and safety within a fun and friendly community.
How to Apply for Residence
- Log into myInfo
- Select ‘Residence Services’ and ‘Apply for Residence’
- Complete all information and down payments required
Accept your offer
If you receive an Offer of Admission, congratulations! Your hard work, determination and commitment to your studies has paid off. Your Offer will indicate which program you have received admissions to, along with important dates and information. Remember, you must satisfy conditions, if any, as detailed in order to retain your Offer and spot in the program. Contact Student Central with any questions about your Offer of Admission.
