Whether you already have extensive experience in outdoor recreation or you are just starting out on your path to adventure, our program will show you that outdoor recreation, parks, and tourism play an increasingly important role in society, contributing to mental and physical health, family cohesion, culture, environmental appreciation, and economic development.

Our experiential program provides you with the opportunity to think critically about the world around you and what it means to live in a more environmentally and socially just world. Many of our courses involve interaction with experts in the field and engage students in experiential, service learning projects that make a difference in our communities. It is our goal to prepare you for success in this challenging and rapidly changing industry, from planning and leading guided tours to assessing and creating visitor experiences for communities and parks organizations.

The unique design of Lakehead's programs in Chemical, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical and Software

Engineering offered at the Thunder Bay Campus enables students to earn a Bachelor of Engineering (BEng) degree in four years, while also earning an Engineering Technology Diploma in their respective field by the end of the second year of their BEng degree.

The field of engineering is generally associated with finding solutions for real world problems in an analytical fashion using the math, science and problem-solving skills developed through a solid education in engineering fundamentals. Engineers must also possess excellent communication skills as well as an understanding of the management, legal, and societal issues that impact
development of technological products and processes.

As part of the Faculty of Natural Resources Management, we offer two degrees - Environmental Management and Forestry. Both programs share a common curriculum for the first two years.

Our Environmental Management program will provide you with a sound understanding of natural processes in environmental ecosystems, including a strong background in forest environments and technical experience using industry-standard geomatics tools.

Our Forestry program will provide you with a background in the biological, social and operational fundamentals of forestry and its relationship to our ecosystems.
