Community-Based Art Project with Tashie Broadbent - Session #2
Community-Based Art Project with Tashie Broadbent
My name is Natasha and I’m an Anishinaabekwe artist from Manitou Rapids. I'm currently studying Visual Arts at Lakehead University, however my artistic journey started when I was much younger. Creating art was one of my earliest interactions with my culture and serves as an act of resurgence. I began painting and practicing traditional crafts when I was 12. I was heavily inspired by the artists that surrounded the powwow circles my family went to and I soon found myself among them. In recent years, I have been focusing on reconnecting with my culture and developing my art in both a technical and personal way.
