Summer 2023 Field Schools

The Las Nubes EcoCampus in Costa Rica is a York University campus. Lakehead students (3rd-4th year undergraduates and graduate students) can participate in summer field courses as Visiting Students. Eight 10-day courses in various disciplines are being offered in Summer 2023.

Grants are available! Through the CALAREO Consortium, grants to attend a field course are available for up to five Lakehead undergraduate students who are (1) indigenous students (2) low income students (3) students with disabilities. Must be Canadian citizens or permanent residents. For information on funding, contact Jill Sherman, intl.research@lakeheadu.ca.

The Rita Nicholas Undergraduate Research Conference celebrates the contributions of emerging researchers at Lakehead University. This conference provides an opportunity for undergraduate students to present a poster or an oral presentation on a research project they are working on or have completed while engaging in scholarly debate with their peers.

Students enrolled in any undergraduate discipline currently working on or have completed a research paper or project, having taken a leadership role in its development and execution, are invited to present an original poster or oral presentation. Proposals can be discipline-specific or multi-disciplinary.

Registrations (Oral Session) are due February 13, 2023:
