Academic Qualifications: 

Glenn Colton received a Bachelor of Music degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland, a Master of Arts in Music Criticism from McMaster University, and a Ph.D. in Musicology from the University of Victoria. His research interests include Canadian music, nineteenth and twentieth-century music, and interdisciplinary studies dealing with music, literature, and visual art.

Previous Teaching/Work: 

Dr. Colton is the author of a doctoral dissertation on the piano music of Canadian composer Jean Coulthard, he edited the first published edition of Coulthard's second piano sonata. He has written numerous articles for publications such as the Canadian University Music Review, Fermata, and the International Alliance for Women in Music Journal, among others. His musical background also includes extensive experience as a pianist, music critic, and adjudicator at music festivals in Eastern Canada, as well as a guest appearance as broadcaster on CBC radio. His latest research activities focus on the music of Newfoundland.
