A Special Thank You from the Lakehead Social Committee

Hello Lakehead colleagues,

As an initiative within the Wellness Strategy, A Gathering for Faculty and Staff: An Afternoon of Wellness was organized and run by the Lakehead University Social Committee to help us refocus after a long winter and the many stresses of the past few months.

This employee gathering was made possible thanks to the generous support of our donors and sponsors. Please join us in thanking the following groups or individuals for their contributions and unwavering support:

Thank you to those who brought a non-perishable food donation for the LUSU Food Resources Centre - your donations help to provide culturally-diverse, nutritional, and dietary accommodating foods to Lakehead University students experiencing food insecurity.

We would also like to thank those who showed interest in learning more about our social committee through the RSVP process. We will be reaching out to those interested individuals sometime in the near future, so stay tuned for that.

We know that many of our employees and students at Lakehead University are quite talented in many ways. If you would like us to showcase your talent, or if you know anyone who has special talents, please reach out. We would love to hear from you to give you an opportunity to showcase those talents at future events. We are always looking for talented individuals or groups such as singers, choirs, bands, dancers, comedians, performance groups, or artisans, just to name a few. It’s a wonderful opportunity to get to know our peers in a unique and fun way.

In line with the University's Wellness Strategy, the Social Committee will be hosting future gatherings for staff and faculty in the next few months, including Summerfest and LU Rocks Lake Tamblyn. The committee is also starting to fundraise for next winter's employee and family events, so make sure to stop by the Agora next month to purchase Taco’s in a Bag.

Thank you to those who attended today's employee gathering; it was great seeing so many colleagues and friends who we may not be able to connect with on a daily basis.
