Attention Faculty, Staff, and Students of Lakehead Thunder Bay

The Lakehead University Social Committee is thrilled to be hosting Lakehead Rocks Lake Tamblyn, where fun, games, and entertainment await!

Event Highlights:
  • Let's Make a Deal: Participate in exciting games with chances to win various prizes, from small goodies to grand prizes.
  • Live Band: Enjoy live music by Back Forty Entertainment, playing two energetic sets and assisting with some of the game segments.
  • Dunk Tank: Test your aim and dunk some of your favorite colleagues, all while supporting a great cause ($5 for 3 throws). *All proceeds from this fun and engaging activity help to support events organized by the Social Committee.
  • Table & Lawn Games: Engage in fun activities such as Giant Jenga, Cornhole, Mini Putt, and more.
  • Food & Beverages: Enjoy a variety of delicious BBQ items and beverages for purchase from Aramark during the event.

We will be collecting donations for the LUSU Food Resource Centre - food, reusable bags, pet supplies, toiletry items, and monetary contributions are welcome.

Dress Up for "Let's Make a Deal"

We encourage you to dress up in creative and fun costumes, just like the contestants on Let's Make a Deal. Whether you choose to be a pirate, a superhero, or anything your imagination conjures, your costume will add to the festive atmosphere and could increase your chances of being selected to participate in the game segments.

Dunk Tank - Volunteer as Tribute?

As a fundraising effort to help the Lakehead University Social Committee run events, we'll have a dunk tank at Lakehead Rocks Lake Tamblyn. Give your aim a try and see if you can dunk a friend or colleague - $5 for 3 throws. All proceeds from this fun and engaging activity will help support events organized by the Social Committee.

Thunder Bay Gallery - Lakehead Rocks Lake Tamblyn 2023

Hundreds of faculty, staff, and students enjoyed karaoke, food, and games at Lakehead Rocks Lake Tamblyn, held on Tuesday, Aug. 15 in Thunder Bay. 

Organized by Lakehead University’s Social Committee, Lakehead Rocks Lake Tamblyn featured karaoke, games, a barbecue, food trucks, a visit from Wolfie, and a chance to donate to the LUSU Food Resource Centre. 

It was also an opportunity for new President Dr. Gillian Siddall to greet her colleagues while also performing a few songs at karaoke. 

The event raised around $300 worth of food and cash donations for LUSU’s Food Resource Centre and allowed faculty and staff to mingle before the new school year begins. Thank you to everyone who donated!

The Social Committee provides fun and meaningful opportunities for faculty and staff to connect throughout the year while further reinforcing the University's institutional values of respect, commitment, community, and innovation. 

The group of volunteers consists of Lakehead University staff members who truly understand the significance of uniting as a community. They receive support from Lakehead administration in alignment with our wellness strategy. Their initiatives have resulted in greater camaraderie among fellow staff, faculty, and students. The Social Committee looks forward to organizing more community-building initiatives in the near future.
