There is a common belief that happiness is something one must find or achieve. Once you find your soulmate or the perfect job, get a bigger house, or are able to retire, you’ll find happiness. But what if happiness isn’t dependent on these external factors and is instead something you can create for yourself? This talk explores happiness as something that does not just happen, but something that must be practiced. Drawing on her research in physical and mental health, wellness, and success, Gillian will explore the science and practice of happiness, and unpack evidence-based strategies you can use to practice happiness in your own daily life. There is also a question and answer section at the end of this presentation.
