Lakehead University, Thunder Bay Campus, invites applications for a Contract Lecturer in the Faculty of Science & Environmental Studies. Applications are requested to teach:
GSCI 0261 YA - Basic General Science
Lakehead University invites applications for a contract lecturer(s) to teach Basic General Science - GSCI 0261 YA (Faculty of Science and Environmental Studies). This course is part of the program for Indigenous students preparing to teach elementary school in the Indigenous Teacher Education Program.
A full course combining lecture and laboratory work. The course will include major concepts of science, skills and processes of scientific inquiry, and selected biological and physical science topics. Course content may be adjusted to suit particular student needs.
Start Date/Duration: Fall Term: September - December 2024
Winter Term: January - April 2025
Tuesday/Thursday 11:30am - 1:00pm
Qualifications Preferred: PhD (preferred) with teaching experience at the university level in science. Candidates lacking the specific degree qualification, but who possess an appropriate combination of experience and other academic qualifications are also encouraged to apply. Experience with experiential learning and online or alternative modes of delivery is highly desired.
