It's that time of year again! Take time for yourself over the winter break by signing up for the Winter WellU Wishlist. Evidence-based wellness practices will be delivered right to your inbox to help you make yourself a priority and reset for the new year.
You will receive your first email on December 18 and receive 14 emails over the winter break.

When you are busy with exams- your health and wellbeing can get put on the back burner but Student Health and Wellness, with the help of Wolfie, is challenging you to find balance during this stressful period.
This event includes online challenges that cover healthy eating and cooking, stress management, sexual wellness, substance use, physical activity, self-care and rest.
From Dec. 4 to 16, students can participate on Instagram.
Students who participate by responding to a question, or interacting with a quiz or poll, will be entered into a draw for a $50 gift card. There will be a winner for each campus!

Join Figuring It Out, a guided discussion series for NoStigmaNovember aimed at breaking down barriers and normalizing taking action to support our mental health. Hosted by Student Health and Wellness, each session addresses a different mental health topic—Anxiety, ADHD, Distress Tolerance, and Depression—and includes a creative art activity. This series provides a safe space for students to share, learn from one another, and receive practical guidance from counsellors.

Tuesday November 5: Anxiety – Calming strategies through creative expression and create a finger labyrinth.Help Stop the Stigma and find strength through connection, creativity, and self-discovery. Everyone is welcome—no artistic skill is needed, just an open mind! Registration is required as spaces are limited.

Join Student Health and Wellness for a cozy evening of fun and reflection as we watch Inside Out 2! This heartwarming sequel dives even deeper into the world of emotions, providing a lighthearted yet meaningful way to explore mental health and self-awareness. Whether you're coming with friends or flying solo, enjoy some free snacks and good company as we kick back and relax together.

Peers are often the first people we turn to when looking for help. It can be difficult to know how to support a friend who is struggling when we aren’t sure how to respond. Join the Student Health and Wellness team to learn how to talk to a friend about mental health.
Join staff from Student Health & Wellness outside the Main Cafeteria on November 20th between 11am and 1pm to learn some practical nutrition tips that you can implement this month to help you have more energy and stay healthy as you work towards wrapping up the semester. We’ll be sharing a healthy snack, along with some of our favorite recipes, healthy eating strategies, and tips regarding mindful eating!

Paint, connect with your peers, and learn about the mental health resources available. Let’s work together to create a supportive community, reduce stigma, and prioritize well-being in our academic journeys. All supplies provided—just bring yourself!
This event is part of #NoStigmaNovember, a Lakehead campaign aimed at stopping the stigma of struggling with mental health and normalizing seeking help when needed. We encouraging all members of the Lakehead community to take action to support their own mental health and to create a campus culture that supports one another and encourages those to get help when needed.
