Dr. Saad B. Ahmed
Dr. Saad B. Ahmed held the position of Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Western Ontario in Canada. He earned his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD in Computer Sciences) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM) in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His educational background also includes a Master's degree in Computer Science (Intelligent Systems) from Technische Universität Kaiserslautern (TUKL) in Germany, and another Master's degree in Computer Science (Software Engineering) from IQRA University in Islamabad, Pakistan. Additionally, he completed his Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) in Islamabad, Pakistan.
Dr. Saad has an extensive academic career spanning over a decade. During this time, he has gained valuable experience in teaching a wide range of computer science courses. These courses include but are not limited to computer programming, natural language processing, machine learning, computer fundamentals, modern software engineering, object-oriented analysis and design, analysis of algorithms, design fundamentals, and computer graphics. Dr. Saad has shared his expertise with both undergraduate and graduate students at various esteemed universities, including the University of Western Ontario in Canada, King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Allama Iqbal Open University in Islamabad, Iqra University in Islamabad, and COMSATS University in Abbottabad, Pakistan.
Dr. Saad has dedicated his career to the research of image analysis and pattern recognition. Throughout this academic journey, he has actively contributed to several research initiatives, one of which involved curating a dataset of handwritten Arabic characters for recognition purposes. This project encompassed the acquisition of Arabic scene text images and the subsequent application of machine learning and pattern recognition techniques to conduct research on the gathered samples. Currently, his research endeavors are primarily centered on the domains of hyperspectral image analysis and the role of explainable AI in medical image analysis and eutrophication analysis using deep learning approaches.
