Research Interests:
Dr. Steven Jobbitt received his PhD in modern east central European history from the University of Toronto in 2008. His current research includes projects on radical right-wing identity formation in Hungary; representations of death and martyrdom in Salazar's Portugal; and globalization and the reinvention of the left in post-Cold War Europe and Africa.
Dr. Steven Jobbitt has traveled extensively in Europe, and has lived a total of four years in Hungary (1992-1995, 2003-2004). He is fluent in Hungarian and technical editor of the AHEA: E-Journal of the American Hungarian Educators Association.
