(July, 2017) Dr. Salem was appointed as Adjunct Research Professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada.
(June, 2017) Dr. Salem presented a research paper co-authored with his master student, Adam Petrycki, in the 6th International Conference on Engineering Mechanics and Materials, as part of the CSCE Annual Conference, May 31st to June 3rd, Vancouver, Canada.
(May, 2017) Dr. Salem was awarded MITAC Internship to hire visiting summer research student, Stefanie Peters, from Germany in the Fire Testing and Research Laboratory.
(March, 2017) Dr. Salem was awarded NOHFC Youth Internship to create a one-year full-time research associate position in the Fire Testing and Research Laboratory.
(Feb., 2017) Dr. Salem was appointed as Graduate Coordinator for the M.Sc. in Civil engineering Program at Lakehead University.
(August, 2016) Dr. Salem presented two research papers, one of them co-authored with his master student, Adam Petrycki, in the 14th World Conference on Timber Engineering (WCTE 2016), August 22nd to 25th, Vienna, Austria.
(July, 2016) Dr. Salem was tenured and promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in the Dept. of Civil Engineering at Lakehead University.
(May, 2016) Dr. Salem was awarded MITAC Internship to hire visiting summer research student, Aparna Chandrasekaran, from India in the Fire Testing and Research Laboratory.
(March, 2015) Dr. Salem's research program was selected for the 50 Research Stories Celebration Event of Lakehead University.
(Feb., 2015) Dr. Salem was Awarded the Merit Award for Excellence in Teaching and Research from Lakehead University.
(August, 2014) Dr. Salem presented a research paper in the 13th World Conference on Timber Engineering (WCTE 2014), August 10th to 14th, Quebec, Canada.
