The incumbent is responsible for overall administrative support responsibilities associated with the Faculty of Law. The following is a brief outline of the responsibilities.
DUTIES:
- Provide administrative assistance to the Faculty, Directors, and Operations Advisor including scheduling meetings, distributing mail, making travel arrangements, drafting correspondence/memorandums/minutes/agendas, etc.;
- Coordinate speaker and student events as well as Faculty and legal community events;

- Assist in the creation of marketing and recruitment materials;
- Organize and maintain the office filing system;
- Perform other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Post-secondary education along with relevant experience in a post-secondary institution;
- Experience working in a legal setting considered an asset;
- Knowledge of OLSAS and Lakehead University Faculty of Law requirements for admission;
- Ability to interact with students, staff and the public, exercising diplomacy and discretion;
- Knowledge and experience with event planning and external relations;
- Excellent communication, spelling and grammar skills, both written and verbal;
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal and customer service skills;
- Initiative and judgment skills to ensure matters are addressed accurately and appropriately;

DUTIES:

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Knowledge of recognized practices and techniques and the use of tools, equipment common to the trade;
• Lifting of 100 lbs on a regular basis;
• Ability to perform heavy manual work and to work on ladders, scaffolds, etc.
• Climbing of ladders on a regular basis;
• Good hand dexterity (pinning for locksmith work);
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills;
• Possess a valid driver’s license;

The Library Technician - Services will provide user-centred support at the library’s online and in-person service points. This work will include promptly and thoroughly answering email and phone inquiries, staffing the Access Service’s desk, and participating as an operator in the OCUL Ask a Librarian chat. In addition to reference support, the Library Technician will maintain patron records and facilitate the circulation of library materials by brief cataloguing, charging, discharging and renewing materials. Services work will also include processing and distributing Lakehead identification cards, processing PaperCut and Makerspace payments and supporting community access to library resources.
The incumbent will support the work of the Access Services department by updating signage related to special notices, events and hours. The incumbent will manage the library’s main research help email account, providing reference and directional assistance. The incumbent will work with the technology services centre (TSC) to update weekly guest accounts, which provides computer access to visitors. The incumbent will also assist in the planning and delivery of library events, such as orientations and tours.

and Academic Skills Advisor. Under the supervision of the Manager, Student Accessibility Services,
the Accessibility Advisor assists full and part time students with disabilities/medical conditions with accessing academic accommodations at Lakehead University. The successful candidate will work with an academically diverse student population performing an assessment of students’ needs’ to determine appropriate accommodations. The Accessibility and Academic Skills Advisor will review and assess confidential medical/psychological documentation as well as follow up with Health Care professionals for clarification or further information when required. They will make referrals to appropriate professionals for assessments and intervention services, as well as meet with students to review and submit the Bursary for Students with Disabilities (BSWD). In addition, they will possess strong knowledge and experience of assistive technology and will arrange assistive technology training for students with disabilities/medical conditions. The Accessibility and Academic Skills Advisor will act as a consultant on disability issues for faculty, staff and students and is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships of mutual support.
DUTIES
- Receive and verify a student's recent and relevant psychological and/or medical documentation;(i.e. medical, psychological, psycho-educational, and regulated health care professional documentation)
- Determines academic accommodations based on functional limitations
- Present information about Student Accessibility Services at various post secondary events
- Ensures all student information and all documentation is treated confidentially, subject to disclosure as necessary to affect the accommodation or as required by law
- Consult with students to discuss academic accommodations for each course; make revisions as needed.

DUTIES:

- Manage residence admissions, compile statistics, complete room assignments and billing (including fees and fines)
- Prepare bi-weekly front desk staff schedules in coordination with the manager, residence and conference services

- Reconcile departmental Visa purchasing card statements
- Receive trouble calls and service requests and initiate work orders with physical plant and/or outside vendors
- Take action on emergency calls in consultation with the manager of residence and conference services
- Maintain records of room inventories and safety inspections
- Liaise with custodial staff, coordinate daily and weekly priorities pertaining to front desk operations
- Track and report time and attendance requests and maintain accurate records on behalf of the manager of residence and conference services

Reporting to the Communications, Marketing and Web Development Director (Lakehead), the Director, Undergraduate Recruitment (Lakehead) and the Associate Director, Marketing and Recruitment (Georgian), this position will play a crucial role in the success of the Lakehead University-Georgian College Partnership (Lakehead-Georgian) with respect to attracting, recruiting and retaining students.
You will be actively involved in recruiting and converting students by coordinating and representing Lakehead-Georgian at various events, such as high school visits, college fairs, career fairs, and other venues across the County of Simcoe. As an ambassador for Lakehead-Georgian , you will build and maintain relationships with key influencer groups including guidance counsellors, teachers, and parents. You will also play a lead role in coordinating the development of the partnership's marketing and communication materials – traditional and digital marketing assets (social media, website, brochures, etc.) – and communication with prospective students and accepted applicants.
Candidates for this position must have a postsecondary degree or diploma with a minimum of three to five years of experience in a related capacity. Education, training or experience in marketing, public relations, or student recruitment preferred. An outstanding communicator with demonstrated verbal and written communication skills, you have excellent time management, analytical and organizational abilities with a strong independent work ethic. You have proven experience and expertise developing and implementing integrated marketing, communications and recruitment plans for multiple audiences. You must have a demonstrated ability to foster, develop and maintain successful working relationships with multiple audiences. Sensitivity to privacy issues and a flexible work schedule is expected for this position. A Class G driver's licence is required.

As the successful candidate you will have some experience in training and leading teams (volunteer or paid positions). Event planning is considered an asset. An understanding of the health care needs of a diverse post-secondary student population is important. You are resourceful and are dedicated to efficient productivity. You must be proficient in Microsoft Office programs and social media communication. Duties
- Research, identify, and adapt sustainability best practices from other universities, corporations, and governments to advance sustainability at Lakehead. Recognize and promote sustainability as an interdisciplinary, integrated, adaptive, and justice-oriented concept, with social, cultural, environmental, and economic dimensions.
- Develop and maintain relationships with other universities' Sustainability Offices and organizations to assist with implementation of the Plan, knowledge sharing, and partnerships.
- Develop long and short-term strategies for the implementation of the Plan, recommend changes needed to integrate sustainability principles into the academic and operational functions of the university, provide an annual progress report, and advance general sustainability initiatives.
- Continue momentum from the Year of Climate Action, referring to its final report.
- Coordinate campus-wide sustainability committees; in particular, provide support for the Lakehead University Sustainability Stewardship Council (LUSSC), its Working Groups, and the Sustainability Executive Advisory Committee.
- Provide advice and recommendations from best practice research to other Departments seeking to be more sustainable.
- Visit Lakehead Orillia at least once a year to maintain partnerships, oversee Office of Sustainability initiatives there, and plan for a sustainability staff position on that campus.
- Publicize, promote, and communicate Lakehead University's sustainability efforts within and outside the campus community.

Qualifications:

The Administrative Assistant is primarily responsible for providing administrative support to the Electrical and Software department chairs, Contract Lecturers and students. This position is the first point of contact for the Department and acts as a liaison between students, staff, and other University departments. The successful applicant will be responsible for organizing and maintaining various paper and electronic files which may involve confidential information, as well as handling and preparing sensitive/confidential materials. Organizing meetings, preparing agendas and minutes, and producing and disseminating of meeting material, will be required as needed. The position is also responsible for preparing financial, academic, and administrative forms following standard University policies and procedures.
The ideal candidate will have a post-secondary education in Office Administration, Business, or a related field along with at least 2 years of administrative assistant experience. Must be proficient with Microsoft Office suite, Colleague/Datatel. The ideal candidate will have the ability to adapt and learn new systems and software as required. The incumbent must have exceptional organizational, time management, interpersonal and communication skills. The Administrative Assistant must have ability to multitask a variety of high priority duties and work under pressure of deadlines; ability to work with minimal supervision; ability to work with sensitive information and handle all office duties in a confidential manner.

The Library Technician - Services will provide user-centred support at the library’s online and in-person service points. This work will include promptly and thoroughly answering email and phone inquiries, staffing the Access Service’s desk, and participating as an operator in the OCUL Ask a Librarian chat. In addition to reference support, the Library Technician will maintain patron records and facilitate the circulation of library materials by brief cataloguing, charging, discharging and renewing materials. Services work will also include processing and distributing Lakehead identification cards, processing PaperCut and Makerspace payments and supporting community access to library resources.
The incumbent will support the work of the Access Services department by updating signage related to special notices, events and hours. The incumbent will manage the library’s main research help email account, providing reference and directional assistance. The incumbent will work with the technology services centre (TSC) to update weekly guest accounts, which provides computer access to visitors. The incumbent will also assist in the planning and delivery of library events, such as orientations and tours.
Required Qualifications:
Library Technician Diploma
Advanced internet and online database searching skills;
Strong knowledge of office productivity software, such as Google Drive;
Effective communication skills;
Demonstrated customer service skills;
Good organizational and time management skills;
Qualifications that are considered an asset, but are not required:
A Bachelor's level degree
Knowledge of best practices related to accessibility and working with diverse populations.
Experience working with an integrated library system (ILS) such as Alma (Ex Libris);
Experience providing reference and research services in an academic library environment.

Under general supervision, the incumbent will provide clerical and reception support to Residence and Conference Services. When required hours of work and days scheduled may be modified to address the needs of the University. The following is a brief outline off the responsibilities. DUTIES:
• Answer phones and take messages from students, conference guests, etc. when required;
• Transfer calls/inquires to appropriate locations when required;
• Receive trouble calls and service requests for residence and respond accordingly;
• Maintain accurate key inventory and issue and receive keys for students, staff, conference
guests, travelers and contractors;
• Receives and sorts all incoming letter mail parcels and deliveries;
• Sends mail pick up notifications to students;
• Interacts with students, staff, conference guests, visitors and general public to provide and/or
obtain information on services, etc.;
• Organize and maintain various files of correspondence, records, brochures and other materials;
• Assess the condition of residence rooms prior to student arrival and departure as required;
• Other related duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Post-secondary education preferred along with 1 year clerk/receptionist experience;
• Demonstrated proficiency with PC’s, and various office programs including Microsoft Office
(Word, Excel) internet, social media, Google Suite (email, calendar, drive);
• Experience with customer service, front line operation and front desk experience;
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team;
• Excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills;
• Ability to work within a culturally diverse environment;
• Ability to work and handle all duties in a confidential manner;
• Ability to multitask and work under the pressure of deadlines;
• Ability to use a variety of office equipment including; photocopiers, printer and POS machine, etc.
